Dwight Grieve

 

Mr. Dwight Grieve is a retired member of the Canadian Armed Forces and has been a member of The Royal Canadian Legion for over fifty years. During his membership, Mr. Grieve has worked diligently for Veterans on behalf of the Legion. A glimpse at his contributions and accomplishments since 2008 offer a picture of his dedication to Veterans and the Veterans Community. Since 2008, Mr. Grieve has served as the branch sergeant-at-arms and youth chairman. He also continues to be the Remembrance Day coordinator for the Malahat and Cobble Hill Branches of the Legion at the cenotaph. In 2011, Mr. Grieve was elected as deputy zone commander and filled in as zone commander in 2012. Mr. Grieve organized the 2011 and 2012 poppy presentations at Government House and represented the zone at the Parliament Remembrance Day Service and at various Remembrance Day parades. Mr. Grieve is also involved with the Submariners Association of Canada West and, in 2012, was selected to be sergeant-at-arms during their convention in Victoria for the Battle of Atlantic Parade and ceremonies at the Victoria Cenotaph. Mr. Grieve was the zone commander from 2013 to 2015 for the South Vancouver Island zone of the Royal Canadian Legion. This was his second term as a zone commander having completed a term as zone commander for Cowichan Mid Island zone of the Royal Canadian Legion. He was elected chairman of the BC/Yukon Royal Canadian Legion in June 2015 and appointed military, veterans and seniors chairman for BC/Yukon Royal Canadian Legion in July 2015. Mr. Grieves was sergeant-at-arms for the BC/Yukon contingent of the Royal Canadian Legion Dominion Convention held in St Johns, Newfoundland in June 2016. Mr. Grieve continues to work with cadets by attending ceremonial reviews at their parades.
