Earle Topley

Hamilton , Ontario

Mr. Topley is a Veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces. He has been an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 163 since 1971 and was instrumental in the design and construction of the Branch’s memorial cenotaph. A dedicated volunteer, Mr. Topley performs all of the day-to-day maintenance of the memorial grounds. He also provides continual upgrades, adding a water fountain and flower gardens. He is responsible for having memorial bricks, with the names of local Veterans, placed at the cenotaph and was the driving force behind the installation of a Peacekeepers’ Memorial, located adjacent to the Legion’s cenotaph. Mr. Topley assists Veterans in his neighbourhood, who are within bicycling distance, by planting and maintaining their flower and vegetable gardens. He is a member of the Canadian Association of Veterans in United Nations Peacekeeping and a Life Member of the Royal Canadian Corps of Signals Club in Kingston, Ontario. Mr. Topley also volunteers with the Royal Canadian Air Force Association 826 Cadet Squadron in Hamilton and at a local retirement home where he initiated a “Men’s Club” for Veteran residents.
