A Veteran of the Korean War, Mr. Hansen had an outstanding military career distinguished by his deep loyalty and dedicated service to the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry (PPCLI). Upon his retirement at the rank of Chief Warrant Officer in 1973, he continued to devote considerable time and energy in finding new ways to foster pride in the proud history and heritage of the PPCLI. He was instrumental in forming the Warrant Officers’ and Senior NCO's Club to serve all retired members from Canada, United Kingdom and the United States. He also spends countless hours annually planning the PPCLI Club's dinners, and editing and publishing the bi-annual news magazine, The Piklee Post which provides news updates as well as valuable information on pensions and benefits. In 2005, Mr. Hansen received the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry Certificate of Achievement for his unfailing dedication to Veterans and their families. He truly embodies the famed regiment’s motto, “Once a Patricia, always a Patricia.”
