Edward Poirier

Dalhousie, New Brunswick

Mr. Poirier is a retired Canadian Forces Veteran. He has been a member of The Royal Canadian Legion since 1959. He has been serving on the Executive of Branch 17 for the past four years and has been Acting Service Officer for three years. Mr. Poirier is active each year in the Poppy Campaign and is an integral member of the Fundraising Committee, which has seen his Legion Branch become financially healthy and active. He is on the house maintenance committee and takes care of hall rentals and set-ups. He is head of the Colour Party and attends all ceremonies, holidays and funerals. Mr. Poirier implemented weekly "Support the Troops" gatherings at his local Branch where members gather and send letters, banners and newspapers to Canadian Forces members overseas. He regularly visits Veterans at the Campbellton Hospital. Mr. Poirier is a strong advocate for Veterans and the Canadian military and is often called upon by comrades for his advice on Veterans issues.
