Mr. Soloway is a Veteran of the Second World War. He has been a member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 97 for over 60 years. He is a past president and a former sergeant-at-arms, and currently serves as vice president. After the war, Mr. Soloway spent two years working for Veterans Affairs Canada where he was able to develop a deep understanding of Veterans programs, including pensions. After he left Veterans Affairs Canada, Mr. Soloway was able to put his knowledge of Veterans Affairs Canada programming to use in order to help other Veterans. Mr. Soloway also actively volunteers to visit sick Veterans in Montreal, particularly at Ste. Anne’s Hospital. For his dedication to supporting Veterans, Mr. Soloway has been awarded the Royal Canadian Legion’s Meritorious Service Medal, Palm Leaf and life membership.
