Mr. Renaud is a Veteran of the Korean War. He was the President of the Quebec Branch of the Royal 22e Regiment Association for the past five years. As President, he organized a commemorative ceremony for the 55th anniversary of the end of the Korean War, where all of the names of Canadians who died in the war were read. Mr. Renaud collected $5,000 every year in order to sponsor the participation of 20 of their members at the annual Military Ball held at the Chateau Frontenac. He joined Branch 150 of the Royal Canadian Legion in order to help raise their number of members and to help organize events, similar to those he organized with the Royal 22e Regiment Association. Mr. Renaud was an advocate for raising the monthly disability compensation that Veterans of the Afghanistan mission receive. To meet this goal, he held press conferences, got 6,000 signatures for a petition, appeared on Radio-Canada and spoke at a parliamentary commission.
