Elsley Foulds

Coquitlam, British Columbia

Mr. Foulds is a Second World War Veteran who served at D-Day. He is a very active member of The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 263. He has been chair of both the Sick and Visiting Committee and the Poppy Campaign. For the past 10 years, Mr. Foulds has been the branch service officer, assisting numerous Veterans. He is the branch's zone representative and for many years has filed reports to the zone. Mr. Foulds is one of the founders of the candlelight tribute, now in its 4th year. Mr. Foulds was the ambassador of the City of Coquitlam when he attended the 60th anniversary of the Liberation of the Netherlands. While there, he presented a city flag to the city of Ysselstein, Netherlands and presented a city flag and print of a mural from the Legion to the Canada War Museum in Adegem, Belgium. Mr. Foulds frequently visits schools and speaks with students. He initiated the donation of a 15-passenger van to be used by Veterans in Coquitlam.
