Francis (Frank) Fergus Wall (posthumous)

Mr. Wall was a Second World War Veteran who served with the Royal Air Force. He was a long-time member of The Royal Canadian Legion in Newfoundland and Labrador, having served as Provincial President, Provincial Secretary and Honorary President. Mr. Wall exemplified extraordinary service to the community, province and his country. He was a Life Member and recipient of the Meritorious Service Medal and the Palm Leaf'the Legion's highest honour. Mr. Wall secured an arrangement with the Government to display permanently in the Confederation Building, the Province's seat of Government, the Legion's Branch banners and the Books of Remembrance for Newfoundland and Labrador listing those who paid the supreme sacrifice in the First and Second World Wars. Mr. Wall chaired a committee that built the Caribou Memorial Manor, which provides apartments to Veterans and their dependents. He was instrumental in having the Provincial Government approve the Newfoundland Volunteer Service Medal for Second World War Veterans who were primarily members of the Royal Navy, Royal Air Force, Royal Artillery, Foresters and Merchant Navy. Mr. Wall received the Queen's Silver and Golden Jubilee Medals as well as the Canada 125 Medal.
