Mr. Lévesque is a reservist with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) in the Cadet Instructor unit. He enlisted with the CAF in 2002 and was a captain for over six years. Mr. Lévesque currently holds the positions of training officer and deputy commander to his cadet corps in Baie-Comeau. He is an active member of The Royal Canadian Legion as director of the Youth Education Committee. In this capacity, he promotes a literary and poster contest in primary and secondary schools of the North Shore region, with the aim of honouring sacrifices made by veterans. Mr. Lévesque also participates in the annual Poppy Campaign and, for the past seven years, has served as master of ceremonies at their annual Remembrance Day ceremony. Mr. Lévesque regularly speaks to cadets on the sacrifices made by Canada’s Veterans during past conflicts. He also organized a ceremony at the 3094 Baie-Comeau Cadet Army Corps and had a portable cenotaph built specifically for the occasion. Mr. Lévesque has also served as the regional coordinator for the youth program for the St. John's Brigade, and has served, on a few occasions, as the aide-de-camp for the Lieutenant Governor. Group leader for the Duke of Edinburg Award for many years, he has been the North Shore regional representative for the past two years.
