Frank Caldwell (posthumous)

Frank Caldwell was a Veteran of the Second World War. Throughout the years, Mr. Caldwell was an active promoter of remembrance in the city of Hamilton. He felt that helping the community to remember the sacrifices and achievements of all of Canada's Veterans was an important duty. Mr. Caldwell served as Chair of the city of Hamilton Veterans Committee and became a driving force behind the local annual Remembrance Day service and other services and activities on behalf of Veterans. He helped raise the profile of Veterans issues serving on local groups including the Veterans Advisory Committee, the United Council of Veterans, the Veterans Service League as well as the Canadian Council of War Veterans Association. The Council established Camp Maple Leaf which provided programs and services to help high risk families and children in the city of Hamilton. Mr. Caldwell's contribution to the local community and society at large is evident by the number of people whom he helped who in turn are giving back to their community through public service.
