Frederick Kirke

Victoria, British Columbia

Mr. Kirke is a Canadian Forces Veteran who served for 33 years and retired with the rank of Chief Petty Officer. He has been a member of The Royal Canadian Legion for 30 years and a 20-year member of the Chief and Petty Officers' Association. Within the latter organization, Mr. Kirke has served on the Sick and Visiting Committee, carrying out numerous home and hospital visits. Putting his cooking skills to the test, Mr. Kirke has made soups and stews which have been enjoyed by many shut in Veterans and their spouses. In 2004, he was appointed Service Officer and has provided assistance and advice to hundreds of Veterans and their dependents to ensure all are in receipt of pensions and benefits. Mr. Kirke is well known to local Veterans for his concern for their well-being. In addition to his volunteerism with the Chief and Petty Officers' Association, Mr. Kirke raises funds for burn victims and disabled children.
