Mr. Dobson is a Canadian Army Veteran who completed tour of duties throughout Europe including Cyprus. He is an active member of the Canadian Association of Veterans in United Nations Peacekeeping and he is Past President of the MCpl Mark Isfeld Memorial Chapter in Esquimalt. In advocating on behalf of Veterans, he established close working relations with other Veterans’ organizations. He continues to liaise with Veterans Affairs Canada to obtain current information to use in assisting comrades with their applications for benefits. Mr. Dobson is also committed to commemorating the service and sacrifice of Veterans. He designed a Peacekeeping Memorial Bronze Plaque which has since been placed at cenotaphs across Canada. He was also was responsible for Peacekeeping Day and United Nations Day parades in the Esquimalt area and he represented the peacekeepers in helping develop the Wall of Honour at the new Victoria Memorial Arena.
