Mr. Villemure is a Veteran of the Second World War. He is an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion, and has been for more than 67 years. He has always participated in the Legion’s Remembrance Day activities and has held a number of executive positions. He is a Life Member of the Legion. Mr. Villemure assists fellow Veterans by filling out forms, helping them to relocate, or providing support with familial conflicts. For more than 40 years, he has presented a conference at Shawinigan High School during Veterans’ Week in order to educate students about the sacrifices of Canadian soldiers, past and present. During Veterans’ Week, he also assists at a Cataractes de Shawinigan hockey game by thanking the crowd for supporting Canadian Veterans.
