Gerry Vowles

Mr. Vowles is a retired CF Veteran and has been a member of the Royal Canadian Legion since 1980. He has served in many executive capacities throughout his RCL career at Branch, Zone and Provincial Command levels, up to his current position as Immediate Past President, BC/Yukon Command. Mr. Vowles has brought together unique partnerships resulting in programs and services for Veterans and their dependnts. He was instrumental in creating Housing Societies, which develops affordable and assisted living units for Veterans and seniors. Mr. Vowles provided leadership for the design of Legion volunteer emergency response programs; student volunteer programs; feed the hungry services; Spinoza Bear Program for sick & injured children; and many other community initiatives requiring Legion support. Mr. Vowles was instrumental in producing a series of historic, educational publications highlighting the military experiences of Veterans. His most current commemorative project is entitled, "Legion's Legacies," which is a campaign designed to pass the torch of remembrance.
