Mr. Criggar is a Canadian Armed Forces Veteran who has served in both the Reserve Force and Regular Force. He is currently Honourary President of the Assiniboia Unit 283 of the Army, Navy and Air Force Veterans in Canada (ANAVETS), and has held a number of other executive positions, including president. He has also coordinated the majority of the Unit’s 38 memorial services. A committed and tireless volunteer, he has performed the order of service for Veteran members, liaises with the padre and families, serves on the Colour Party, and he has trained other members in a variety of duties. In terms of other affiliations, Mr. Criggar has been a member of the Royal Canadian Legion (RCL) since 1981. He is a chartered member, Treasurer and Membership Chair of the Canadian Association of Veterans in United Nations Peacekeeping. Recently completing a four-year stint as president of the Last Post Fund for Manitoba and Saskatchewan, Mr. Criggar now serves as Past President.
