Gordon Marsh

Mr. Marsh is a retired Canadian Forces (Navy) Veteran. He joined Unit #290 of the Army, Navy, and Air Force Veterans in Canada (ANAVETS) in 1974 and immediately began serving on the Executive. He has held the positions of Unit President, 4th Vice President of BC Command, Provincial President, Vice President of Dominion Command and he is currently the Acting Dominion President. Mr. Marsh has been Chairman of the Kamloops candlelight tribute since its inception in 1999. This tribute has become one of the largest in Canada where more than 1,500 candles are laid annually. Mr. Marsh was also a key player in the construction of a new cenotaph in Kamloops. An active volunteer, he has been involved with the Canada Summer Games, the Brier Cup, the World Curling Championships, the United Way, and in the past year, he helped paint a local seniors housing project. Mr. Marsh is the recipient of the American Legion Friendship Medal, Life Membership, the Order for Service, the Award of Merit, the City of Kamloops Centennial Medal, Freedom of the City of Kamloops and the Queens Golden Jubilee Medal.
