Mr. Ritchie is a Canadian Armed Forces Veteran. He is a member of the Black Watch Association and has served in a number of executive positions, including President and Service Officer for the last several years. As Service Officer, he provides help to members of the regiment returning from Afghanistan. In 2009, Mr. Ritchie organized a trip for Second World War Veterans and their caregivers to visit the countries and places where the Black Watch fought during the war. In 2011, he was active in organizing a trip for Veterans to Scotland to visit the Scottish Black Watch. Mr. Ritchie visits patients at Ste. Anne’s Hospital, and in 2010, when the regular Santa Claus at the hospital was unable to attend, Mr. Ritchie volunteered to take his place.
