Gordon Wilson

Mr. Wilson is a Second World War Veteran. At 90 years of age, Mr. Wilson remains very active in many organizations related to keeping the memory of the sacrifices made by Canadian soldiers alive. Mr. Wilson is the founding member and president of the Saskatchewan Fighter Pilots, past chair of the Veterans Memorial Committee of Saskatoon's Woodlawn Military Cemetery, a member of The Royal Canadian Legion, a former civilian chair of the Royal Canadian Air Cadets and an active member of numerous service clubs in the Saskatoon area. Additionally, Mr. Wilson was the executive director of the Western Development Museum and was responsible for the upgrading of four large museum structures in Saskatchewan. He is a founding member of the museum association of Saskatchewan, Associate Museums of Canada and the Association of Cultural Executives of Canada. He is the recipient of the Legion's 50-year Service Medal, the Royal Canadian Air Force Operation Wings and Bar for distinguished service, the Kiwanis Lieutenant-Governor (Honour) Award and he was named "Kiwanian of the Year" in 1984. He has received the Saskatchewan Centennial medal, Saskatchewan Volunteer medal, the Queens 25th Anniversary medal, and the Queens 50th Anniversary medal.
