Mr. Mahood is a Veteran of the Royal Canadian Air Force, who served for 30 years. Upon his retirement, he was active in the Pembroke Royal Canadian Air Force A Wing, serving as Wing President from 1989-1991. Mr. Mahood has served in many positions on the Royal Canadian Air Force Association Ontario Group Executive Council. He was the RCAF Benevolent Fund area representative for Pembroke and surrounding areas for 19 years, has been trustee for the RCAF Association Trust Fund since 1998 and has been the Chairperson since 2009. Mr. Mahood also served on the Air Force Association of Canada Executive Council from 2001- 2009; for two terms as president. Mr. Mahood has been a member of The Royal Canadian Legion for 38 years and has been involved with a number of Veterans associations in various positions. He has been overseas as well, representing Second World War RCAF Veterans in the Netherlands in 2005. Mr. Mahood has received the RCAF Meritorious Service Medal, the Life Membership Award from the Air Force Association of Canada, the Canadian Forces Decoration with Bar, a Special Services Medal with NATO Bar and the Queen's Jubilee Medal.
