Mr. Greg Gallant has been actively involved in commemorating Veterans for as long as his family and comrades can remember. At the age of nine, he joined the Navy League and, by 1977, he had served more than 26 years as Reserve Officer with the PEI Regiment. This eventually led him to the position of Curator with the PEI Regiment Museum. Mr. Gallant opened the Museum in 1989, contributing much of his personal collection of memorabilia. The museum has since grown substantially, owing in good measure to the time, effort and leadership of Mr. Gallant. The museum has been ranked among the top third of museums rated by the Department of National Defence, the only reserve force museum to earn this standing. Mr. Gallant was actively involved in the organization of activities for the Year of the Veteran in 2005. His crowning achievement was a float commemorating Veterans which was featured in the Summerside Lobster Carnival Parade and Charlottetown’s Old Home Week Parade. In addition to his outstanding dedication to the cause of remembrance, Mr. Gallant also provide volunteer work with the Army Cadets.
