A Second World War Veteran, Mr. Chadderton is Chief Executive Officer of the War Amputations of Canada and Chairman of the National Council of Veteran Associations (NCVA). Over the years, Mr. Chadderton's has provided important employment to disabled Veterans. His decades of work on behalf of veterans, their families and others with disabilities has been recognized through successive promotions within the Order of Canada. He was named a Companion of the Order in 1999. As Chairman of the NCVA, the media regularly asks him to comment on veterans' issues of both national and international significance. As a champion for Veterans' rights, Mr. Chadderton played an important role in the negotiations to obtain compensation for Canada's Merchant Navy Veterans and their surviving spouses for war-related service and similar compensation for Hong Kong Prisoners of War. He has also advocated on behalf of Aboriginal Veterans and Peacekeepers. His work in the area of military history as a producer of videos chronicling Canada's wartime experience is well known. His exemplary service to Canada and her Veteran community serves as an outstanding example to all.
