Harry (E.C.) Groom

Mr. Groom is an active and loyal member of The Royal Canadian Legion and has held several senior positions since 1980. Mr. Groom works as a general volunteer and lends his support to many of the Legion's causes, such as the Poppy Campaign, the Branch's fund-raisers, food banks and the Christmas Hamper Fund. Mr. Groom can be found at the local Branch seven days a week, helping out with various tasks ranging from taking kitchen inventory and helping build storage facilities to assisting Veterans in need. Mr. Groom has also supported the local Cadet Corps, involving youth in Legion activities and in remembrance ceremonies such as Candlelight tributes at Veterans' graves and at the new Veterans Park and War Memorial on Remembrance Day. Mr. Groom's devotion to Veterans is well-known within his community. He is always ready to assist Veterans in any way he can, and also speaks to schoolchildren about the meaning of Remembrance Day and about the importance of remembering the sacrifice of Canada's Veterans.
