Jack Anderson

Mr. John (Jack) Anderson is a Second World War Veteran who took part in the Battle of Britain, the Italian Campaign, and the Liberation of Holland. Following his retirement as a Deputy Fire Chief, Mr. Anderson relocated to the Okanagan area of British Columbia and became involved with his local Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion. He has served in many positions on the Branch Executive and for the past 10 years, he has worked as a Service Officer. Mr. Anderson participates in fundraising initiatives for his Branch and is in charge of the Ways and Means Committee. Every year, he devotes time to the Poppy Campaign and volunteers for the Legion's Colour Party on Remembrance Day. Mr. Anderson regularly visits schools to speak to students during Veterans' Week. Throughout his retirement, Mr. Anderson has volunteered at the local Senior's Centre, delivering "Meals-on-Wheels," and visiting ailing Veterans in hospital and at-home. Mr. Anderson is always there for his comrades and peers in the Veterans' and seniors' communities.
