Jack Frazer

Colonel Frazer served in the Royal Canadian Air Force and the Canadian Armed Forces from 1951 to 1987. He was also a member of Parliament for Saanich—Gulf Islands from 1994 to 1997. While a member of Parliament, Mr. Frazer brought forth Private Member’s Bill C 300, an Act respecting the establishment and award of a Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp for United Nations Peacekeeping to Canadians serving with a United Nations peacekeeping force. All members of Parliament and of the Senate supported the initiative and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal for United Nations Peacekeeping has since been awarded to tens of thousands of deserving Canadian United Nations Veterans. Mr. Frazer also supported the establishment of the Seventh Book of Remembrance to be installed in the Peace Tower.
