Jacques Dupuis

Mr. Dupuis is considered by many to be one of the pillars and pioneers of the volunteer effort at the Department of Veterans Affairs' Ste_Anne's Hospital. He has played a key role in organizing hospital volunteers for the past 20 years. Mr. Dupuis created the Steering Committee of the Fondation de l'hôpital Ste-Anne. This charitable organization, founded in 1998, has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to contribute to residents' quality of life, increase knowledge in the field of geriatrics and support commemorative activities. Mr. Dupuis visits resident Veterans on a regular basis. As the President of Volunteer Services for many years, Mr. Dupuis incorporated and wrote the Charter of Volunteer Services. He has organized a number of Remembrance activities at the site, including the Canada Remembers 50th Anniversary activities at Ste-Anne's. He often speaks to children at local schools about the meaning of Veterans' service and sacrifices.
