James Howard

Mr. Howard is a retired Canadian Armed Forces Veteran and has been a member of The Royal Canadian Legion (RCL) since 1980. During this time, Mr. Howard has spent countless hours aiding and assisting Veterans by providing them the information, direction and advice they need to complete applications and helping them to liaise with Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC) in order to get the equipment and food vouchers they need. Mr. Howard has also spent many hours mentoring and tutoring new RCL members on their different positions and the duties, rights, and obligations they hold. Mr. Howard has served in a number of Legion executive positions including President and Zone Commander, and he volunteers as a caller for the By-Zone Bingo. Mr. Howard is currently the Administrator of the Vancouver Poppy Fund and is responsible for the Remembrance Day ceremony at Victory Square, Vimy Day Ceremony, and Poppy Tagging at the BC Lions football game. Prior to becoming the Administrator, he was the Chair of the Vancouver Poppy Fund and helped with the promotion of the UBC Veterans Transition Program and helped to raise funds for the program. He is committed to the well-being and remembrance of our Veterans and assists every year at the Candlelight Tribute held at Brock Fahrni.
