James Molloy

Mr. Molloy is a Second World War Veteran. An active member of The Royal Canadian Legion, Mr. Molloy is past President of the Grand Falls Branch, past President and Chairman of the Newfoundland Command and he is currently Secretary of his Branch. Mr. Molloy was Commanding Officer and later Honorary Colonel of the Royal Newfoundland Regiment. He is a strong advocate of commemoration and was instrumental in establishing a Historical and Museum Committee. He has served as its Chair since 1967. He conducts guided tours of the museum, speaks to school children regularly during Veterans' Week and writes a weekly military history column for his local newspaper. Mr. Molloy is the recipient of numerous awards and honours including the Canada 125 Medal, the Queen's Silver and Golden Jubilee Medals, Meritorious Service Medal with Palm Leaf, Life Membership (The Legion), Veteran of the Year in 1975 and Legionnaire of the Year in 2006.
