After being nominated, Ms. Jean Clay passed away in February 2014. She was employed in providing specialized health care to high needs Veterans. For over 23 years, she provided volunteer health services to Veterans in need. Throughout her term of employment, she went above and beyond her duties, volunteering extra time to advocate, provide free counseling services, and provide referrals for Veterans in need. Beginning in 2003, Ms. Clay volunteered and travelled with Second World War and Korea War Veterans, on 10 trips across Canada and internationally. During these trips, she volunteered to help make travelling easy and enjoyable for the Veterans, helping them with their travel and daily needs. Ms. Clay’s dedication and high level of support enabled many Second World War and Korea Veterans to participate in these ceremonies and events. Her hard work and dedication on these trips helped to make them possible and enjoyable for many needy Veterans.
