Mr. Jean-Louis Bonhomme is a Veteran of the Second World War. Since 1976, Mr. Bonhomme has spent 30 years loyally volunteering at Ste. Anne’s Hospital. Mr. Bonhomme is a member of the Liaison Day Centre for Veterans where he assists the professional team in any way he can, including helping Veterans at mealtime, accompanying Veterans to medical appointments and bringing them to Sunday church services. He founded a cribbage club for the Veterans at Ste. Anne’s Hospital and helps prepare their taxes annually. He volunteers every Christmas Eve and New Years Day. Mr. Bonhomme has devoted more than 500 hours of his time volunteering over the last year alone. Furthermore, he collaborated on the drafting of a charter which incorporated the Volunteer Service of Ste. Anne’s Hospital as a non-profit organization, marking a vital period in the history of its volunteer service. Thanks to the efforts of Mr. Bonhomme, the number of volunteers at Ste. Anne’s has quadrupled and there are now more than 214 individuals who donate their time to help promote the well-being of hospitalized Veterans.
