Joan M. Goldsmith

Since 2010, Joan M. Goldsmith has been a dedicated member of the Army Navy and Air Force Veterans in Canada (ANAVETS), Unit 400, embodying the spirit of service and camaraderie. Her unwavering support for Veterans is evident through her tireless efforts to provide transportation for those unable to drive and her organization of special events and dinners. Joan's homemade gift baskets—filled with jellies, pickles and baked goods—have delighted members and supported the unit’s initiatives.

In 2014, she joined the Veterans visiting team at Trillium Manor in Orillia, Ontario, making weekly visits that enriched the lives of many residents. Joan’s commitment to building connections inspired her to train fellow volunteers and mentor students from Georgian College.

Her passion for supporting Veterans extends to fundraising efforts, including the successful “Mind and Melodies” program that provided iPods for residents. Joan also led a spring plant sale that raised over $1,200 for new patio furniture and a much-needed bus.

Joan’s efforts in organizing events like the Royal Canadian Legion’s annual Veterans’ dinner and community tea gatherings showcase her dedication to creating a nurturing and inclusive environment.
