Mr. Gaetan is an active and long-standing member of Unit 217 of the Army, Navy and Air Force Veterans in Canada (ANAVETS). He has held every position on the Executive including president, vice president and treasurer. Mr. Gaetan was most recently vice president of the Nova Scotia Command from 2009 2010. As Service Officer for Unit 217 and a member of the Cape Breton Veterans Hospital Comfort Committee, Mr. Gaetan continues to assist Veterans whenever he can. When he learned about a Veteran's wheelchair bound daughter wishing to one day have a motorized wheelchair, Mr. Gaetan acquired a used motorized chair and had it rebuilt for her. Mr. Gaetan has received ANAVETS' Appreciation Award & Medal and Past President Award & Medal, as well as Life Member Award. In addition to his tireless volunteer work with ANAVETS, Mr. Gaetan also belongs to numerous community service clubs including Knights of Columbus and the Cape Breton Comfort Fund.
