A Veteran of the Korean War, Mr. Grenning was involved with the Royal Canadian Legion for more than 50 years, of which he was a 30-year member of Branch No. 1. Upon his return from active service, Mr. Grenning wanted to do everything in his power to help his fellow Veterans. He was Branch No. 1's Service Officer for 20 years assisting Veterans in obtaining benefits & services to which they were entitled. He was very active in commemorating the sacrifices of Canadian Veterans. Mr. Grenning served as Honour Guard at Veterans' funerals, visited countless students in their schools to provide them with a first-hand account of his wartime experiences, and he worked on several Poppy Campaigns. Until his recent passing, Mr. Grenning was the Branch No. 1's representative for the Caribou Memorial Veterans Pavillion.
