Mr. Kolanchey is a Korea War Veteran who served with the Canadian Forces from 1950-1952 and 1954-1957. Mr. Kolanchey is a chaplain and active member of the Korea Veterans Association and the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry Association. He is also a member of The Royal Canadian Legion and the National Aboriginal Veterans Association. He is known to be a remarkable ambassador and advocate for Veterans. Mr. Kolanchey is a member of the Edmonton district office community liaison committee, the Western region community liaison committee and the stakeholder advisory group for the development of the new operational stress injury (OSI) clinic, which is due to open in November 2008. Mr. Kolanchey has provided worthwhile information and advice to these committees regarding both new and traditional Veterans. Mr. Kolanchey is also the chair and stakeholder of the Diane and Irving Kipnes Centre Veterans' Committee and is actively involved with the Centre.
