Mr. Morrison is a Canadian Armed Forces Veteran. He has been a member of the Royal Canadian Legion for more than 44 years, serving in various executive capacities, including Branch president and vice-president. In his role as service officer, Mr. Morrison was required to become familiar with Veterans Affairs Canada’s pensions and benefits, as well as relevant Veteran-related federal, provincial and municipal programs. Since 2000, in his role as Provincial Service Officer for the Ontario Command of the Royal Canadian Legion, Mr. Morrison has been responsible for training and assisting the branch service officers at 72 Eastern Ontario branches. He also organized and conducted his own seminars for new branch service officers, upon completion of his own training in Veterans Affairs Canada Long-Term Care Surveyor Program. Mr. Morrison has been awarded a life membership by the Royal Canadian Legion, as well as the Meritorious Service Medal for his service.
