Moncton, New Brunswick
Joseph Robert (Bob) Cormier joined Moncton’s Veterans’ Health Centre in 2010, following a 28-year military career. Since that time, he has volunteered at least four hours per day, five days per week and accumulated more than 7,400 volunteer hours with the recreation department.
Whether it’s through social visiting with individual Veterans, group activities, or taking Veterans for a bit of fresh air, he ensures Veterans are included and encouraged to participate. He is also a volunteer van driver and brings Veterans to medical appointments and recreational outings.
Mr. Cormier even makes himself available on holidays and other special occasions to make sure Veterans are able to make it to see their families.
In his years with the centre, he has been a remarkable asset and has made a large difference in the lives of the Veterans, their families and centre staff.
