Joseph Sullivan

Peterborough, Ontario

A Second World War Veteran, Mr. Joseph Sullivan served with the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry Highlanders as a Regiment Corporal Signaler. Last year, Mr. Sullivan led a delegation of Veterans and family members to Zutphen in the Netherlands to participate in the naming of eleven streets in honour of 11 "Glens" killed in action in April 1945. Working with municipal officials, he helped to coordinate the street-naming project. Mr. Sullivan also directed the delegation on a battlefield tour of North Holland. He has been chairman and organiser for the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry Highlanders' reunions in Peterborough. His current project is the development of a memorial plaque in Confederation Park, near the Peterborough cenotaph. Mr. Sullivan continues to be a tireless advocate on behalf of Veterans.
