Jules Pinard

Mr. Pinard is a Canadian Forces Veteran who served with the Royal 22ième Régiment from 1954 to 1960. As part of his duty, he served with NATO in Europe from 1955 to 1957. Mr. Pinard is a member of Branch 35 of The Royal Canadian Legion where he has been Public Relations Officer and President of the Membership Committee. He was instrumental in having Trois-Rivières proclaim 2005 as "Year of the Veteran". Mr. Pinard originated the concept of a cenotaph in Nicolet, Quebec and was the Master of Ceremonies for the dedication ceremony. In addition to his involvement with The Royal Canadian Legion, Mr. Pinard has been Chairman of a fundraising campaign for Albatros House - a palliative care facility; Chairman of a fund-raising committee of the Archdiocèse of Nicolet; Chairman of the United Way Campaign and a founding member of the Christ-Roi Hospital foundation of Nicolet. Mr. Pinard has received many awards for his volunteer work including the Queen's Golden Jubilee Medal, the Canada 125 Medal and he received the Governor General's Caring Canadian Award in 2007. Mr. Pinard is well-known in his community for his dedication to Veterans.
