Mrs. McKinnon is the spouse of Korean War Veteran, Arthur McKinnon, who served in Korea with the 1st and 3rd Battalions, Royal Canadian Regiment. She is a volunteer and an active member of Korea War Veterans Association of Canada, Manitoba Unit 17 (KVA Unit 17) where she has provided assistance in planning various events and functions for many years. As well, she has been the Sick and Visiting Co-Chairperson for the KVA Unit 17 over the past 15 years, visiting Veterans at Deer Lodge Centre and hospitals, and assisting Veterans where she can. Mrs. McKinnon is also a Life Member of the Ladies Auxiliary of The Royal Canadian Legion (RCL) No. 4 in Winnipeg, and an Associate Member of RCL No.4 where she tirelessly gives her time and assistance to events and functions. Mrs. McKinnon has been involved with the Annual Poppy Campaign over the past 22 years in various locations throughout the City of Winnipeg.
