Kelly Kwong

Mr. Kwong served in the Royal Navy in Hong Kong from 1969 to 1972. From 1999 to 2005, Mr. Kwong was secretary of the Hong Kong Ex Servicemen’s Association. He joined the Royal Canadian Legion (RCL) in 2002 and has been serving on Branch 44’s executive committee since 2006. Mr. Kwong is the Chairperson of the Poppy Campaign, is a member of the Lower Mainland Colour Party where he regularly participates in parades and ceremonies. He represented Branch 44 at the RCL Provincial Convention in 2009. Mr. Kwong has been a member of the Army, Navy and Air Force Veterans in Canada since 2004 where he actively participates in Remembrance Day ceremonies at Victory Square and at the Chinese Memorial Square in Vancouver’s Chinatown. In addition to the above organizations, Mr. Kwong is also an active member of the Chinese-Canadian Military Museum Society, where he continues as Director and is responsible for public relations and promoting the roles and functions of this Society to the Chinese community, the Royal Canadian Legion and the general public. Since 2006, Mr. Kwong has been a member of the Vancouver Naval Veterans Association and he has been a member of the Association’s band since 2009.
