Léo Gallant

Chambly, Quebec

Mr. Gallant is a Veteran of the Korean War who served 42 years with the Canadian Forces. He is an active member of Branch 34 Arras of the Royal Canadian Legion where he has successfully organized and run the Poppy Campaign for several years as well as planning/organizing several other Royal Canadian Legion events throughout the year. Mr. Gallant is also a member of the Association du Royal 22e Régiment. He is involved in the Memory Project which aims to increase awareness among students of the achievements of our Veterans. Mr. Gallant is also actively involved in the Canadian Forces Leadership and Recruit School and he is responsible for presenting the Legion trophy to recruits. In 2005, he assisted in the planning of events to mark the Year of the Veteran. He also participates in commemorative events to preserve the memory of our Veterans' sacrifices. Mr. Gallant is well known for his dedication, generosity and commitment to Veterans and the citizens of the community of Chambly.
