Leonard Grummett

Mr. Grummett is a Korean War and Canadian Armed Forces Veteran. Since retiring from the military, he has been a longstanding and dedicated member of the Royal Canadian Legion, serving on many committees involving the welfare of Veterans. From 2007 to 2012, Mr. Grummett was branch service officer. He has participated in all of the Branch’s Poppy campaigns and has been a member of the Poppy Trust Fund for several years. On occasion, Mr. Grummett has also emceed the Annual Veterans’ Memorial Service. He volunteers his time driving Veterans to medical appointments, to go shopping and to participate in RCL functions at the Perley Rideau Centre. Through his 20-year membership in the Neighbourhood Watch program, Mr. Grummett has also been able to connect with and offer assistance to Veterans he might never have known about. In 2005, Mr. Grummet received a certificate of appreciation from the Government of Canada for his many years of service to his community.
