A retired member of the Canadian Forces and veteran of the Korean War, Mr. Johansson has been an active member of the Last Post Fund's Board of Directors for the past six years and currently holds the post of vice president for Western Canada. From 1996 to 2000, Mr. Johansson served as vice president of the Korea Veterans Association and devoted numerous hours raising funds for a Korea Veterans Association memorial in Winnipeg. In 1998, Mr. Johansson was instrumental in making the arrangements for the KVA convention in Winnipeg. Mr. Johansson is a member of the Joint Veterans Association of Canada and is also a representative on the Board of Directors at Deer Lodge Hospital in Winnipeg. More recently, Mr. Johannson began a pilot project to locate and maintain graves and grave markers for all deceased veterans in Canada. For more than 30 years, Mr. Johansson has given freely of his time to assist and counsel veterans in any way he could. Mr. Johansson's extensive dedication to veterans and to perpetuating the memory of their sacrifice and contributions has made and continues to make a memorable impact on the veterans and his community.
