Linda Jones

Burnaby, British Columbia

Ms. Jones is the daughter of a Second World War Veteran, and grand-daughter of a First World War Veteran. Although she is a professional musician and artist, Ms. Jones caters to Veterans first and foremost. She has performed numerous shows for Veterans free of charge. She regularly entertains the Veterans at the George Derby Centre and the Brock Fahrni Pavillion. Ms. Jones has also produced several theatre shows as fund-raisers for Veterans' programs. Her music is from the 20s, 30s and 40s and she performs the songs as they were originally sung. She is an associate member of the Royal Canadian Legion. In 1996, Ms. Jones accompanied her late father to Italy for a commemorative pilgrimage and upon her return she wrote two very special songs: one for her country and one in honour of the Veterans, the latter of which has become her signature tune. As long as there are Veterans to appreciate her music, Ms. Jones considers it her duty and honour to perform for them.
