Lisa Gaylene Rose

Lisa Gaylene Rose was nominated for her work in establishing a commemorative monument in her community.

For over 12 years, she has volunteered with Girl Guides Canada and also sat on the board of the Fortune Hall where she was able to get the approval for the creation of a commemorative monument. She was instrumental in establishing the cenotaph recognizing Veterans from Fortune Bridge who have served in military conflicts. Through her efforts, the names of over 80 Veterans from the First and Second World Wars, the Korean War and other conflicts are etched on the monument for everyone to see and honour. Without her dedication to the project, these local Veterans could easily have been forgotten. Through her work, future generations will be able to honour and pay respect to their friends, family members, or unknown Veterans who answered the call to maintain peace.
