Lorne Perry

Dartmouth, Nova Scotia

Mr. Perry is a Second World War Veteran who served in the Merchant Navy. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion in Newfoundland and Labrador and Prince Edward Island, and is currently a member of the Centennial Branch in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Mr. Perry became the first working president of Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers after he learned of assaults being committed against seniors and Veterans. He is a long-time representative of the League of Merchant Mariner Veterans of Canada, where he assists Veterans and families across the province. Over the past 15 years, Mr. Perry has voluntarily hosted a radio show for seniors and Veterans on Thursdays from 10 a.m. to noon. He once had a column in a local publication called The Seniors Advocate, designed to assist Veterans and seniors understand and deal with various issues that relate to them. He also interviewed Veterans for the "REMEMBER" project and served some years on the Nova Scotia Judicial Counsel.
