Major (Retired) Gregory Henry Mulatz

Major (Retired) Gregory Mulatz is nominated for volunteer work with the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) of Regina in honoring our Veterans.

For more than 35 years, Maj. Mulatz has been involved with the RUSI of Regina, an organization primarily dedicated to honoring the Canadian Armed Forces and its members past or present. As the head librarian and historian for the institute, he is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the library and has spearheaded projects that have supported or honoured Veterans.

He has researched details of all Victoria Cross recipients originally from Saskatchewan and helped plan ceremonies in the communities to honour the recipient from that community. This also includes a commemorative banner which is then used in schools and the community for educational purposes. In 2018, Maj. Mulatz’s research identified a previously unknown Victoria Cross recipient as part of the Saskatchewan Wall of Honor, which was unveiled in the provincial legislature.

He has also participated in the planning and unveiling of the commemorative pedestals placed at the base of the cenotaph which tell the story of Canada’s conflicts and major battles.
