Major Rick M. Lewis has been a member of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) since 1977, and is currently the Area Cadet Instructor Cadre Officer for Pacific Region Cadets in Northern British Columbia. Major Lewis has been an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion for more than 34 years, and has served on the executive. He has dedicated over 30 years to coaching, leading and mentoring Veterans’ Remembrance projects throughout Northern B.C., and assisting in numerous cenotaph upgrades, monument dedications, and flag installations. Major Lewis has also been involved with Memorial Cross presentations and supported Veteran funeral and burial functions. Dedicated to family members of the CAF, Major Lewis has a passion for interviewing and documenting the Veteran experiences. He provides equipment and interactive materials to school history classes and diligently promotes the spirit of youth involvement in supporting Canada’s Veterans, particularly among cadet corps and squadrons.
