Mark Ivins

Abbotsford, British Columbia

Mr. Ivins is a longtime volunteer who has supported many activities that pay tribute to Canadian Veterans and educate youth about Canada’s military history. For the past 15 years, he has acted as an interpreter of military history at the Fort Rodd Hill National Historic Site on Vancouver Island. Mr. Ivins is a member of the Canadian Military Education Centre in Veddar Crossing, where he acts as a guide to museum visitors, assists with the maintenance of displays, and shows his extensive collection of Canadian military uniforms. He is also the designated cenotaph sentry at commemorative services throughout the lower mainland, including the George Derby Veterans Care Centre and the Burnaby Central Park annual events. Mr. Ivins’ commitment to Remembrance has had a tremendous impact on his community.
