Val-Bélair, Quebec
Martin Daigle has been a member of Veterans UN-NATO Canada for over 13 years and has been president of the Quebec region since 2013. In this role, he is responsible for the administration of memberships, management of the region’s web site, organizing meetings and activities and for promoting the organization and its mission in the region. He is also responsible for upholding the rules of engagement for the organization and ensuring members are getting along.
The mission of Veterans UN-NATO Canada is to support Veterans who are struggling and Mr. Daigle has dedicated himself to this by making himself available at all times, even going outside of his region to provide support to those in crisis.
He also helps direct Veterans to resources they may need, including Veterans Affairs Canada and La Vigile. La Vigile is a not-for-profit organization to support those with alcoholism and addiction issues. La Vigile is open to all citizens but is also a recognized resource for helping those in uniform.
He visits Veterans in the community and in the Maison Paul-Triquet, a residence and long-term care facility that houses up to 61 Veterans. He also volunteers for the Poppy Campaign, participates in parades and commemorative ceremonies, offers care and support to Veterans and their families and helps with funerals and memorial services for those who have passed.
