Ms. Cardiff has been tirelessly serving her community for many years. She is a 60-year member of The Royal Canadian Legion's Ladies Auxiliary and a 26-year Association Member of The Royal Canadian Legion. Twenty five years ago, Ms. Cardiff, a talented vocalist, was entertaining at a local hospital where many Veterans resided. Ms. Cardiff overheard a Veteran remark that he was disappointed in not being able to attend the local Remembrance Day ceremony. As a result, Ms. Cardiff contacted several Veterans and asked if they would join her in a special Remembrance Day service for those confined in the hospital. Through her dedication, this program has grown to 25 individual services at retirement and home care facilities throughout the Kelowna area. The services begin a few days before November 11, with as many as five performances a day. Now 80 years old, Ms. Cardiff attends and leads each service and shows no signs of slowing down.
